Is your teen ready to get their Colorado Learner's Permit?

This online and self-paced course is loaded with 3D animations, images, and graphics making it easy to understand and follow along with each lesson module. This course is available to all teens that are at least 14 and a half years of age in Colorado.

Students must complete the course within a 6-month period. Otherwise, a reactivation fee will be charged to extend the duration of the course.

Once your teen passes this course and is 15 years old (or older) they will be able to sign up and take the written Permit Test. 

Upon course completion, your teen will receive an Affidavit of Completion of Driver Education Course (DR 2956) and a certificate of completion to keep for your records. You will need to bring the Affidavit of Completion to the license office, when applying for the learner’s permit.

How Do You Get A Colorado Driver's License At 16?



Your teen will qualify to receive their driver's license after turning 16 and meeting the following requirements:
 
  • Complete an approved 30-Hour Driver Education Course (register for our online course above)
  • Pass the Written Permit Test
  • Hold a valid learner's permit for at least 12 months
  • Complete the 50-Hour Parent/Teen Drive Log with at least 10 of those hours completed at night
  • Complete the 6-Hour Behind-The-Wheel Driving Lessons.
  • Pass the Colorado Driving Test with an approved driver education school.
  • Sign the affidavit at the driver license office.
